Welcome to the Room 23 News!
The school year is off to a great start! We have begun Reader's Workshop, and children are focusing on choosing just right books and building stamina. Our new initiative of Writer's Workshop is also up and running. Students have been generating a variety of topics to write about in the coming year. Our first math test is Friday, and will focus on prime and composite numbers, squaring and unsquaring numbers, prime factorization, and finding all of the factors of a number. We have learned about several Mayan customs, including human sacrifices! Finally, we have begun our study of simple machines in science.
